What can you expect during laser hair treatment?

Your treatment will be individualized based on your skin tone and hair color.  The treatments take anywhere from 5 minutes for a small area, to 20 minutes for a large/extra large area.  

Is the treatment painful?

The LightSheer Quattro is equipped with ChillTip contact cooling for small and medium areas and high speed vacuum assisted technology for larger areas. You may experience the sensation of a rubber band flick over the treated area.  This is very well tolerated.  No numbing gels or pain medications are needed.

Does the LightSheer Quattro work on different hair color and skin tones?

The LightSheer Quattro works on all skin types safely and effectively.  Laser hair treatments work best on dark, coarse hair.  Your customized settings will be made according to your Fitzpatrick Classification scale and type of hair being treated.  You should avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, or self tanners while you are undergoing treatments.  

Are the results permanent?

To achieve the best results, 6 to 8 treatments must be performed 6 to 8 weeks apart.  This will treat the hair in different phases of growth.  After this, all dark hairs should be gone.  Some fine, light colored hairs may not respond to further treatment.  Down the road, you may notice sparse hair growth and need a touch up now and then.  This is due to stress, hormonal changes, medications, pregnancy, etc. 

How do I prepare for my laser treatment?

All skin should be free of hair by shaving the area to be treated.  Refrain from tweezing, waxing, threading the hair for a minimum of 2 to 4 weeks prior to treatment. You can continue to shave the area in between treatment sessions.  Avoid sun exposure and use SPF 30 sunscreen or greater.  Skin should be free of lotions, makeup, or deodorant during treatment session.
